Resources for School Mental Health Staff
Concerned parents should contact Second Wind or school mental health staff for potential referrals; however, the provider lists below may be helpful if you have private insurance.
School staff interested in the School Suicide Prevention Accreditation Program offered by the American Association of Suicidology should email info@suicidology.org for information or go to www.suicidology.org .
We currently are searching for bilingual therapists and/or therapists in the northern or eastern part of the Denver metro area. Therapists must be experienced working with youth at-risk for suicide, licensed with the State of Colorado, and adequately insured ($1,000,000/$3,000,000). Second Wind pays therapists $60 per hour in the Denver metro area. Therapists in other areas of the state may be compensated at different rates. Note that all youth age 19 and under in these areas are covered by Second Wind if they are at-risk for suicide, uninsured, under-insured, and not on Medicaid. They do not need to be currently attending a public school to be covered. You are encouraged to contact Second Wind or one of its affiliates as appropriate to discuss any student potentially being eligible for a referral.
