Concerned parents should contact school mental health staff for potential referrals; however, the provider lists below may be helpful if you have private insurance.
School staff interested in the School Suicide Prevention Accreditation Program offered by the American Association of Suicidology should email info@suicidology.org for information or go to www.suicidology.org .
SWF, Inc. is always searching for bilingual therapists and/or therapists. Therapists must be experienced working with youth at-risk for suicide, licensed within their state, and adequately insured ($1,000,000/$3,000,000). To find out if there is a Second Wind Fund Affiliate starting in your community, please contact Lori A. Hoffner, Affiliate Director, SWF, Inc. 720.962.0706 or LHoffner@TheSecondWindFund.org Note that all youth age 19 and under in areas that have a Second Wind Fund Affiliate Program are covered if they are at-risk for suicide, uninsured, under-insured, and not on Medicaid. They do not need to be currently attending a public school to be covered. You are encouraged to contact SWF, Inc or one of its affiliates as appropriate to discuss any student potentially being eligible for a referral.
